what if some creeper came on here to stalk people/get phone numbers maliciously.

Then they would take the number and stalk you or sell your number to telemarketers (which you then do this if the telemarketer calls!)

I do think we should keep a telephone directory, in a PDF form (and password protected)... the people who add their numbers to the list should accept that the number will be shared with others on the list. If this is a problem, make a Google Voice number (it's free and fowards to your cellphone... like my 4 GV numbers)
